The first Sundeck 550 has been launched this month (August 2015) and it will be officially presented in September at Cannes Yachting Festival and at Genoa Boat Show.
Designed by Zuccheri Yacht Design, modeled by milling machines and molded with the resin vacuum infusion system, it is dedicated to ship owners who understand the value of these methods of construction.
Crafted by expert hands and with high quality materials, it has a sober elegance and it is reach of stylish details.
She is a fast and economical trawler thanks to the high efficiency hull. At full load, at 7.5 knots sets new records of economy consuming only one liter per mile (7.5 liters/hour), while at 9 knots the pointer stops at 1.7 liters/mile (15.5 liters/hour).
Fully loaded, top speed reaches 25 knots and cruising speed range goes from 14 to 20 knots.
The Sundeck 550 is a semi-custom “100% Made in Italy” yacht and it is the first of a series of three trawlers from 16 to 24 meters.
It sets new benchmarks in terms of roominess, functionality and navigation qualities, as well as offering the owner the possibility of configuring and set up his boat as he wishes.
The volumes of this yacht, considerably higher than the average of her category, remaining inside of the standard dimensions, led her to excel in terms of interior and exterior spaciousness.
This characteristic has allowed, for example, to realize an airy living room maintaining very large external passages. To understand the true dimensions of this yacht, just think that other boats of the same length may be easily contained within her shape.
On the main deck, the kitchen is located between the living room and the outside area to serve both easily; the kitchen furniture are well equipped with the best electrical appliances which can be hidden with folding solid wood cover. The living room has two leather sofas that can accommodate up to ten people. At the center there is a dining table which is extensible, swivel, height adjustable and convertible to double berth.
The wheelhouse is a concentrate of technology, but its use is simplified by a rational design of all controls and checks so that the activation of any device is immediately understood and it is clearly verified by warning lights.
Every system, every control, even every piece of furniture is designed for maximum ease of use.
Below deck there are multiple configurations, including: three cabins, each with its own bathroom with separate shower (a rarity for a yacht of this type and size), or four cabins (the only one in this segment of the market), with heights that reach anywhere two meters.
The master cabin amidships overlooks both sides with panoramic windows and portholes. It is furnished with dressers, wardrobes and cabinets of all kinds. The bathroom is “en suite” of course. At the bow, the VIP cabin has portholes and long windows and has direct access to the bathroom.
On the starboard side, it is placed a twin cabin. The accommodation for the crew, accessible from the cockpit or from the aft platform, has two berths.
The outdoor areas are immense. The huge bow sundeck has no competitors in terms of comfort and spaciousness. The cockpit is also a perfect technical area for mooring and it is equipped with exclusive mooring bitts and fairleads manufactured from solid.
The flying bridge is versatile and furniture can be transformed in sunbathing area or a living where lunching under the shade of a Bimini; the kitchen, with grill and refrigerator, completes the decor of the upper deck while the stern area can host a crane for the tender that can be also put on submersible bathing platform.
The equipment has been carefully chosen for comfortable and pleasant life on board: the air conditioning has an enormous capacity (60,000 BTU) as well as the generator (16 kW) and you can also add the gyroscopic stabilizer.
In the engine room, very large to facilitate checks and maintenance, there are two engines FPT N67 – 6.7 liters – whose power is defined according to the performance required by the owner, from 450 to 570 hp. In this power range, these engines are the best in class for weight to power ratio, power to displacement ratio and volume to power ratio.
Sundeck 550 is ready for any test at the next boat shows in Cannes and Genoa 2015.
